The world’s first year round purpose built mountain bike lift, I was a part of this project from the start working for the Doppelmayr Garaventa Group. It was a complex project - the culmination of 5+ years of planning. It involved a number of heavily invested stakeholders including Select Evolution - the main Canadian development company, private investment funding (including the NZ Government's tourism growth fund), local community stakeholders, a separate land owner and construction companies who were brought on to build general infrastructure. The project was built to target locals and visitors - it also included a cafe/restaurant, zip lining and mountain coaster.
