Health, wellness and mountain biking

If mountain biking is going to be bigger than snow sports in Queenstown Lakes, well what comes after that?

Health and wellness is making a big impact...

According to the Global Wellness Institute, the wellness travel market is now estimated at $639 billion, with a pre-pandemic growth rate of 6.5% a year, more than twice the growth rate of tourism overall.

And we're seeing this with a combination of new and existing wellness developments.

Interestingly, it's not just wellness in a traditional sense but a growing number of experiential wellness providers.

It’s taking wellness up the experience continuum - hot/cold exposure on the Kawarau River at Wellspace, new immersive saunas in Wānaka or the all encompassing Aro Ha Wellness Retreat.

Plus it's a good fit.

It's complimentary - post-activity recovery to the outdoor adventures (skiing, biking, hiking) that visitors come to Queenstown for and the community engages in it too.
