Homebuilt Sauna Project

We moved into our house in Queenstown last year and using leftover materials built this sauna.

Extra cladding from the house is the cladding for the sauna.

Extra roofing from the house is the roof for the sauna.

A spare window is the window for the sauna... You get the idea.

We still had to buy some new material/equipment (eg couldn't find a 2nd hand sauna heater) and in the end it still cost more than I thought it would...!

However, we have a sauna that's built to size and by using our own material it fits right in.

Bonus points for making it even cheaper to run using our solar to power it (or free hours of power between 9pm and 12am).
