How we can actually leverage increased Trans Tasman Capacity
Looking out the office window and it's clear Qantas is, and has been, cranking up capacity.
Air NZ is ramping up its flights to Australia too...
The airlines will be working hard to fill these seats (so it make sense to expect even more Australian's on tour Summer 2025/26.)
This capacity follows confidence: in NZ, in tourism, in what we have to offer.
But we need to get these visitors out to the regions.
How?
Not just a marketing campaign.
Visitors yearn for legendary experiences. Something that gives them a story to tell. A moment that they can relive forever.
Visitors will go where these moments are available and this comes down to product (experiences).
Proper regional product development is an ongoing challenge but it needs to happen for tourism to make its best contribution to NZ.
